On September 6, 2011 there was a fatal shooting at the Carson City - International House of Pancakes (IHOP). The shooting resulted in the death of five individuals and seven persons were injured. On October 22, 2011, Carson Catalina Apart
ments together with Fun Jumpers and other local businesses participated in a fundraising event
at the local Gold's Gym for the victims of the shooting.
On November 1, 2011, police determined that the shooter, Eduardo Sencion, feared demons were after him in the months before the deadly shooting. The Sacramento Bee reported that the shooter was afraid to spread the illness to his family and avoided intimate contact with his family.
Pepper, Carson Catalina's onsite Manager reported that it was great to be able to participate in these kinds of events because it shows how much we are willing to help our community. Furthermore, it is a great opportunity to get our name out there as well as to let people know we care. Money raised will help the families who have suffered from this devastating event.
